Lewes Bonfire Night – 4th November 2017
Six of Lewes’ seven bonfire societies hold their bonfire and fireworks on the 4th of November. There are processions throughout the town, starting around 5 pm. and the last one finishing around midnight! If you are a bonfire and fireworks fan, then this could be the perfect night for you!
Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular 4th & 5th November 2017
Enjoy this fantastic fireworks display with the castle as a backdrop. This year the display will be timed to music from the movies! The fun starts at 2.00 p.m. with afternoon entertainment and hot food and drinks stalls to keep you going until the display starts at 5.30 p.m.
Horse Racing at Plumpton – 6th & 20th November and 4th & 18th December 2017
Enjoy a day at the races at this lovely Sussex racecourse set in the beautiful South Downs National Park. Assorted hospitality packages are available.
Wealden Times Midwinter Fair
Come and see over 150 hand-picked exhibitors showing a wide range of high quality crafts. Products available include vintage and contemporary home wares, beautiful jewellery and fashion and a wide range of artisan food and drink. This popular event is the perfect place to enjoy a spot of pre-Christmas shopping and sample the local produce.
Chiddingstone Castle Christmas Fair
The annual Christmas Fair at Chiddingstone Castle is the perfect place to find Christmas gifts and treats that you are unlikely to find on the High Street. The historic castle rooms and marquee are filled with stalls selling a wide range of products from homewares to jewellery, children's clothes to local food and drink. When you need a rest you can relax in the cosy tea rooms for a cuppa, a light lunch or even mulled wine and a mince pie!
Dickensian Christmas Festival, Rochester, 2nd & 3rd December 2017
A Christmas celebration of all things Dickensian to celebrate the special relationship between Dickens and the Medway. There will be a whole array of street entertainment including readings, singing, dancing, familiar fictional characters, carols and parades. Don't forget to meet Father Christmas, do some Christmas shopping at the festive stalls or join in with the open air carol concert.
Groombridge Place and Gardens, Christmas Spectacular
During selected weekends from the 28th November and daily from the 19th - 24th December there will be spectacular Christmas entertainment at Groombridge Place. You can meet the Snow Queen and enjoy a variety of themed events including street theatre in the gardens and a lit trail in the winter garden. Father Christmas will be in his log cabin to receive little visitors, each of whom will receive a gift and a professional photo to remember their special day.
Santa Specials at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
Enjoy a festive steam train ride on this wonderful railway, meet Santa Claus and enjoy other magical entertainment this Christmas. There will be a new hedge maze and a charming Victorian carousel for all the family to enjoy.
