Here at Kent and Sussex Holiday Cottages our staff are our most valuable asset - they are real people, not just telephone operators in a faceless call centre. They all work incredibly hard to find the right accommodation to suit your needs. As every cottage has been personally inspected by our staff, when you call us you will be able to talk to someone who has seen the property and can (hopefully!) answer all your questions. It is important to us to provide a quality service and we are always happy to hear from our visitors with ideas or ways to improve our service.
As a Suffolk man born and bred, I have been delighted to broaden my horizons and discover the many scenic, cultural and culinary delights offered by these two wonderful counties. I enjoy walking in the countryside and the glorious displays of Spring bluebells are a particular favourite. The city of Canterbury is also a favourite place to explore the rich cultural heritage, wide variety of shops and fabulous selection of places to eat and drink. As a bit of a foodie, I am making the most of the scrumptious selection of local produce available, not to mention the delicious Shepherd Neame beers!
Our fantastic property recruiters are here to help you if you have a property that you are thinking of holiday letting. They have an extensive knowledge of the areas that we cover in Kent and Sussex and can offer honest, no obligation advice on what your property can achieve as a holiday let and what you can expect as an owner. I joined the company as a Property Recruiter in 2014 and have since progressed to the role of Brand Manager, responsible for the Cranbrook and Canterbury offices, property recruitment and further development of the business in the South East. I am very much a ‘Maid of Kent’ having grown-up and been born in Broadstairs, which to this day I still love. Kent is a wonderful county and I’m one of its biggest advocates! It offers fabulous diversity, a wealth of history and wonderful unspoilt countryside, not to mention the gorgeous beaches and coastline. We are so lucky to have a fabulous city like Canterbury on the doorstep with all its cultural activities and in my opinion the most beautiful Cathedral in England! Having spent a lot of time living in Europe, I have settled back in Kent but just love the fact that I can still be in France within 1 hour of leaving home. Working with Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages gives me the opportunity to indulge my love of property and meeting new people. When not at work I will invariably be found out in the countryside or on one of our beautiful beaches or coastal paths, riding a horse or dog walking.
I joined the company in 2009 as a part-time reservations assistanct. I now work full-time as a Property Manager recruiting new properties, which is really my perfect job as I’m naturally inquisitive and love talking to people! I am also trained in property photography and love this aspect of my job just as much. I love the variety that my job brings, the people that I get to meet, the gorgeous properties I get to visit and the opportunity to venture round the wonderful counties of Kent and Sussex. In my leisure time I enjoy playing tennis, meeting my friends for dog walks and going to the cinema.

They have an extensive knowledge of each of our properties and are here to help if you wish to make a booking or have any questions regarding your holiday.
Recruitment & Homeowner Liaison
I joined Kent and Sussex Cottages way back in May 2007 so am the longest serving and dare I say, oldest member of the team. I work part time in the Canterbury office, an exciting city and a big new challenge for me. I enjoy the variety of the work and to be part of the team. I have lived in the area all of my life and on my days off, I enjoy spending time in the beautiful county with my family and delightful grandchildren. I love living by the coast with the fresh sea air just a short stroll from my home. With views of France on a clear day, it's an amazing place to live.
Operations & Guest Services
I joined Kent and Sussex Cottages in July 2009 and I work full time. I am lucky enough to split my working week between our Cranbrook and Canterbury offices so I get to enjoy the bustling City of Canterbury and The Old Market Town of Cranbrook. I am a people person, I really enjoy talking to our guests and homeowners providing the best service I can. I love visiting our cottages and taking new photos keeping the property portfolios fresh and up to date. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, walking and photography so living in the beautiful Garden of England is a perfect backdrop.
Homeowner & Guest Services
I started working part time for Kent & Sussex in January 2015. I love living in this beautiful part of the world and it is a pleasure working with owners to help provide guests with their ideal holiday escape. I enjoy speaking to customers and homeowners alike and where possible, going out to see the cottages themselves. I am trained in photography so enjoy capturing the properties in their best light. When I am not working I enjoy walking our dog in the woods at Hemsted, Sissinghurst and Bedgebury or along Camber Sands. If I am not cheering on our boys at one of their numerous sporting fixtures, I might be playing tennis or in the gym and we all enjoy cycling on the forest trails or along the coast at Rye Harbour. We have some fabulous local pubs, cafes and restaurants which we like to visit as often as we can!
Recruitment & Homeowner Liaison
I joined the team at the beginning of 2016 and work part time in reservations in the Cranbrook Office. I grew up and went to school in Tonbridge Kent before moving to London. When we had our children we were keen to return to this area so they could enjoy growing up in such beautiful countryside and all that it has to offer with its stunning forests and beaches. I enjoy working with both customers and owners to ensure that we provide the best experience for everyone. I enjoy walking my dog in Bedgebury Forest and she particularly loves jumping in the waves at Camber Sands. Having worked in fashion buying, one of my favourite pastimes is shopping in Tunbridge Wells and the lovely boutique shops found in Tenterden and Rye.
Our locally based marketing team work alongside a larger team in Group Services to promote our portfolio in the most places possible. Through effective, targeted and exciting online and offline marketing they showcase our properties to a large audience of customers to ensure high booking levels are achieved.
Marketing & Guest Services
I joined the team part-time at the beginning of January 2015 and previously worked in public relations. My main role is now in marketing and helping Abi to promote the brand and our properties. I liaise with our public relations consultant to gain national coverage, create and send direct emails to our customers, post on social media and organise adverts in local titles - among other things. I thoroughly enjoy all the variety that the role has to offer and enjoy being permanently busy! I also work in guest services and enjoy talking to both customers and owners alike. Having lived in the area for nearly twenty years and bringing up three children here, I know just how much this part of the country has to offer, with its beautiful countryside, wonderful coastline and gorgeous market towns. I have also seen what a huge variety of stunning and interesting properties there are in the area and we are so lucky to have so many of these ‘on our books’. In my spare time, I can be found at The Vine pub right in the centre of pretty Goudhurst as my family own this and I love walking or running our very energetic dog in Hemsted or Bedgebury woods. I love visiting the coast and a visit to Hastings or Whitstable for the vintage shops is one of my favourite days out too.
Marketing Coordinator South East
I've worked for our sister brand Best of Brighton Holiday Lettings since May 2014, joined the Kent and Sussex team in 2017 and now have the role of Marketing Coordinator for the South East. I live in the pretty village of Rottingdean, just outside of Brighton and enjoy splitting my time between our Brighton and Kent offices. I love how varied my role is and the fact that no two days are the same! Outside of work I enjoy travelling to far flung corners of the world and scuba diving. When I'm not abroad I enjoy playing rugby for my local team - Lewes RFC.
Our Quality Assessors maintain the standard of our portfolio by visiting our properties and grading them according to The Original Cottage Company Star Grading Scheme. Whether a property is small or simple, large or luxurious or a home from home, all our properties meet our stringent Minimum Entry Requirements (MER). Our in-house assessors work to strict criteria to ensure a fair and accurate star grading throughout our whole portfolio. If you're a homeowner and have any questions regarding the grading of your property, please speak to any of out assessors who will be happy to help you.
I am one of the newest recruits joining the company in December 2018 as a part-time Quality Assessor. I was born and brought up in Kent and have very fond memories of family excursions to the local attractions, towns and beaches of Kent and Sussex. Having been based in the Midlands for a number of years it is great to live back in East Sussex and find a job that is most fulfilling and rewarding. I mainly cover west Kent and Sussex (including Brighton) and enjoy being able to provide advice and support to homeowners in achieving and maintaining the standard and grade they want for their properties.
I joined the Company in September 2017 as a part-time Quality Assessor, helping our home owners to make the most of their properties through assessing and advising. I love the opportunities my job gives me to explore Kent. I was born in Tunbridge Wells, but lived much of my life abroad or in London. I am lucky to live in a tiny village, nestled in the North Downs above Wye. I love walking and have access to many tracks from my front door; or, if I choose to drive, my dog and I can be wandering along one of the many beaches within an hour of my house. I am also a singer, and I enjoy the variety of cultural events in Kent: from local choir concerts to the annual Canterbury Festival. As time goes on, I realise that I have a lot more to discover about this beautiful county I call ‘home’.
