Description

Rose Cottage is a lovely retreat for couples or a single person. It is nestled to the side of the owner's well tended garden and has great views from its patio across apple orchards. The property sits away from the main house with its outside seating partially screened by mature clever arbour planting, giving guests privacy.  Inside there is an open plan living area which is spacious with a modern interior, and has been comfortably furnished and finished to a high standard.  The kitchen is very well equipped and is perfect for preparing light meals and breakfast. There are a few great gastro pubs in and around Hawkhurst which means that you don't need to cook if you don't want to!

Kitchen area is fitted with units and and is well equipped. It has a 2 ring electric hot plate with compatible saucepans, a microwave combi smart oven, a fridge with an ice compartment and a larger fridge

Out and About:
Hawkhurst is situated on the Kent/Sussex border which offers lots of opportunity for exploring both the surrounding rural countryside and stunning coastline.  It is perfect for walkers and cyclists, being close to both Bedgebury and Bewl Water.  The moated castle at Bodiam and the gardens at Sissinghurst Castle are both only a short drive as is the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, which offers a great selection of shopping, cafes and restaurants. The Kent and East Sussex Railway can be found in nearby Tenterden and there are many local vineyards offering wine tasting and tours including Biddenden Vineyard, Chapel Down and Hush Heath. This is a wonderful location in the Garden of England surrounded by an outstanding selection of tourist destinations, there is also a 9 hole golf course and local fishing lakes close by.

We have had a truly wonderful time in your rose cottage. It is very comfortable indeed and it has a wonderful terrace with a view on both a beautiful and well kept garden and the hills in the distance. The ensuite bathroom was very much appreciated and the downstairs area is light and fresh. The cottage is a wonderful starting point from which you can explore the area, the National Trust properties and gardens in particular. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and respectful of people’s privacy. In short, a wonderful place which we would like to recommend.
